A whole week has gone by and nothing new has been posted. Wow - we really need to work on this. There has to be something entertaining that happened to one of us in the last week!
I decided to get my taxes done this year because I wasn't sure how to handle the whole "home buying" aspect. Usually, I just use TUrboTax and have a nice check in my account by February at the latest. This year, I went to my parent's recommended guy. I finally get an appointment in early March. Jim and I go and his taxes are completed and he now has one of his 2 refunds in hand.
I am told that I need to go to the city of Clawson and get some tax info from them. I do this the next day and fax it over to the tax guy. I call and leave a voice mail asking how much I owe him and when I can stop by to drop off the check. No return call. I call later and his wife tells me that the fax was received and they'll let me know if they need anything else from me. Okay, good. I should be done soon. I don't hear anything, so I call and leave a voice mail a couple of days later. No one returns my call. I am pretty sure I called again and no one called back.
Over a week later, I get an email saying that in order for my taxes to be filed in a timely manner, I need to go pick up my return and bring a check with me to pay him. Fine. I've been trying to do this for over a week now. So I call and leave another voice mail and ask when I can stop by. No answer.
4 days later, I give up on getting a return phone call and email back and ask the following questions: 1) Who do I make the check out to? and 2) Should I stop by (if so, when) or should I mail it?
The next day, he emails me back and says it would be better to bring it by his house than to mail it. Then he has the nerve to tell me to call and set up a time that I can stop by! Like I haven't already called multiple times! Ridiculous. Today I am going to call again and try to set something up. This is crazy. I really just want my money. If he doesn't call back, I'm stopping by his house unannounced.
I think I'll be finding a new tax preparer next year.
So I'm thinking of hiring the Poop Scoop King. $48/month. They come out once a week and scoop poop for up to 3 dogs. For me, i estimate that to be a little under $1 per pile.
I think this could be worth it.

NUMBER 1: I am sick of Mahi Mahi and Ahi Tuna....with all the goddamn Ocean surrounding this place you would think they could catch something else.
NUMBER 2: 50 bucks for lunch, 125 for dinner... ummm, Western Union, send money fast.
NUMBER 3: Lifting off in a helicopter is sweet.
NUMBER 4: (All islands here are totally military, OMG, every mountian has a tower on it and a military facility or Base. I seriously think that 20% of my 14.50 CLub sandwich went to the military, for "protection" or some crap.
Anyway, here are some more pictures.

As many of you know, fark.com has photoshop contests where you photoshop a picture. One of my favorites was of a polar bear. I spent quite a bit of time on it and did ok in the voting. Problem is, I don't know where the pic went. Well, I found it stored on section225.com today.
Yay!
Oh.. and here it is:

I gave blood today. Hope whoever gets it enjoys it. its a fine Todd 2005 vintage. Full bodied red.
Free choco chip cookie and OJ - what a deal!
My snowman melted this weekend. He lasted a long time and was a trooper till the very end. Yesterday he was still a little 1 foot pile, but he was completely gone by this morning
Thanks for the fun Snowman!
So far, March has been a lucky month for me and Mike! My car is in the shop getting an oil change and getting the fan fixed (only works on high).
So, Mike had to pick me up at the dealership this morning. We took a different route to the office and stopped at the Dairy Mart for coffee. We decided to get a $2 Super Red Bingo scratch off. Apparently, Mike didn't want this card, but too bad - I was paying!
We get to work and start scratching (the ticket). We end up winning one line on each card!! That totals out to $37! We haven't had this much scratch-off luck ever!
We decide to turn in the ticket after lunch. I say we can't go to 7-Eleven because we never win there. So we decide to go to Tweeny's by the office. We decide to get 2 $2 Bingos and a $5 card and then split the rest of the winnings. While I'm turning in the ticket and Mike is picking out some pop for himself, I decide we also need a $2 Game of Life ticket. How fun is that!?
We get back to the office and start scratching (the tickets). Turns out, we lose on all the stuff we picked out EXCEPT the Game of Life! That one pays out $40! Holy cow! We've now won $77 in one day on scratch-offs! Not bad!
