karma gods

So, the karma gods are in full effect today.

This morning, I'm on my into the Coffee Beanery (Cafe Carmel...mmmm). You have to go through 2 doors to get in. There is a lady about 2 or 3 steps in front of me who refuses to hold the door open. I'm so close to her that it wouldn't have held her up at all. But she chooses to be mean. So, the karma gods strike and she goes into the line the wrong way and ends up not ordering her drink until mine is already made. Ha! Take that! So, I'm walking out the doors back to my car when I decide that she got what she deserved. Well, the door decides to whack me in the arm and it hurts! So, I now have a nice red line across my arm that will probably turn into a bruise. Mike has witnessed the red line so I have proof of how hard I was hit. Karma gods striking me back for my bad thoughts. They must have felt bad for hurting me so much, so when I went to pull onto Southfield Road, the traffic was totally clear across all 4 lanes and I got to turn right away.

So, I figure I'm about even for today....

somtimes

It's a good thing when a website you programmed is on the front page of every news site on the internet. Sometimes, you just don't want the attention. This is one of those latter times.

timing is everything

We were talking the other night, about how much better you can see the stars when you're not in the city. I was thinking about that again last night as I pulled into my driveway. And thought of that line from Coldplay "Look at the stars, see how they shine for you." As I put the car in park, it started playing on the radio.

Unexpected things

The ice chewing community is growing. Best quote from the ice chewing thread : "Thank you ICE FORUM!!!!" Its nice to know some good is coming out of this for the ice chewers.

I may add a best threads area, what ones do you think should be there? I think ice chewers and blue moon are prime candidates.

Keep on keepin' on.

TGIF

So, today started out pretty well. Then, at about 9:30, it went bad. Fast. Super Fast. Apparently one teeny tiny line of new code in one of my programs went crazy. Deleted files left and right. Well, the good thing is that it was on a development server, so I'm safe. Also, since it was so early, I'm the only one who changed anything today. So, the files from yesterday are currently being restored. Thank goodness for daily backups!! The restore is probably going to take forever though. It's just not the way I hoped to spend my Friday. TGIF - 5 hours left and counting...maybe less...

2 More Days

til the weekend...

No one is visiting this site. Or, if they are, they aren't commenting at all :( It's a little boring this week. The guys didn't even post fun pictures - like them fishing or something. They aren't any fun.

Bowling is tonight! Then, I have a busy weekend full of different stuff!

BUSY

Wow, I have been so busy! It's tough when you're the only person around to take phone calls and do all the little crap that comes up, let alone trying to keep up with everything else going on!! I'm going to need a vacation when the guys get back.

In happy news, today is currently being known as "The Day The Wall Came Down". No, not the Berlin Wall or anything important like that. I'm talking about the wall between 2 of the rooms in our office. Why is this important, you might ask? Well, because that was step one of me getting to move my desk. See, 2 rooms are being combined into 1 and then 5 or 6 of us are moving in. I can't wait for a change of scenery!!

Bowling starts Thursday! ROCK!

The hip new club

For bees. I've got some of these flowers in my back yard:

The bees just love them. There's usually around 10 of them buzzing around and doing bee things. Maybe they're meeting other bees for the first time, and are going out to see a bee movie later, but more probably they were sent on a mission by their evil slave driver bee queen. Either way, I'm pretty sure it all ends up as honey somehow, and that's a good thing.

Sorry...

So, we have all been pretty boring lately...a little slow on the posts :(

I just wanted to apologize for that. Hopefully things will calm down eventually and we can be more posty.

yoo hoo

If you're using a free yahoo email account, I'm not ignoring you. For reasons that really aren't worth explaning, emails sent from my office are probably ending up in your "bulk mail" folder. You can poke in there to see if I've sent you anything, and then set a "this is not spam" filter that should take care of the problem until we can get the tech stuff worked out.
