well

I'm going to see Freddy vs. Jason tonight. So that's good at least. Other good things include tha band souding pretty decent, and my tomato plant bearing fruit. And that leaves me pretty much tapped on good things. Feel free to add your own.

Volcano Grill

So, I went to Star Southfield last night to have dinner at Volcano Grill. Now, I haven't been there in a while but it used to be a pretty decent place. I get there and find the gate closed. The restaurant was all set up with tables and chairs and the neon sign was glowing. The menu is even on the wall outside. We figure maybe they open in a half hour or something, so we go ask someone. Turns out, it has been closed for 4 months. I know there were 2 reasons why it's closed but I can only remember one: credit card fraud. The thing I don't get is why the whole place is all set up still - it's odd. Leave it to Southfield...

Well...

That sure was a helluva week!

Things sure turned out well though. Thankfully, everything still ended up just falling into place. Finding beef on Friday night was a miracle! The cold Keg from the silver party store helped make things a little better too!

Haiku Friday has been rescheduled. It will be this coming Friday.

I really think I can get used to this mondays off thing.

...and counting....

It's starting out as "one of those days". Thankfully, we get to leave at 4 or so to go to the bar. That'll be nice. Hopefully the day will pick up a little.

Leftover Thai food for lunch today - that should definitely help!

SAT: Dream Cruise!!
SUN: Golfing!!

ROCK!

SOD

My backyard has been sodded. It was looking grim for a little while there... till some friends showed up (SOD is HEAVY!)

I picked up the first load and was told to hurry back so I could get my 2nd load. Apparently reserving SOD is much like reserving an airplane ticket - they overbook. So, it was just me and a palet of sod that needed to be unloaded. I made a sod mountain in front of my garage. This sod mountain later turned into something like a gigantic game of Mah Jongg as you struggled to find which piece you could take off next.

Val and I got about 3 rows down when Ken daddy showed up. We did a little raking then. About 2/3 of the way through (and after i ran through the hose) J and Jen showed up to rock out the rest and do the trimming ends (which i am not so good at it turns out). J rocked the trim.

We celebrated with hotdogs.

I gave Ken daddy my left over sod, returned the palets to the palet nazi ($20 deposit on each palet!??!) and I came home to clean up - BUT Val had done all the clean up! ROCK! So I just enjoyed its greeness instead.

Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who helped - all the help made a HUGE difference!

Little diddy...

So, I tend to read cockeyed.com when I can - its a fun site to read. Anyhow, the owner of the site had recently requested people send him pictures taken with camera phones that they owned. Well, I had taken some photos recently and sent them on.

Well, he actually used them in his breakdown of camera phones. I'm glad I could contribute.
