Praying Mantis

There's one staring at me right now. It's hanging upside down on the other side of the window in my office.

I haven't seen one of these critters since I was a kid. I'm getting a severe case of the creeps because this thing keeps staring at me through the window.

I decided to do a little praying mantis research and found a disturbing tidbit I want to share with you. It seems that the mating ritual can be a hazardous endeavor for male praying mantisess (sp). That's because on some occasions the female ends up eating the male at the end of the evening. It didn't say anything about this tragic turn of events being related to performance issues or her failed attempts to get the male to consider taking enhancement medication. Perhaps the guy just forgot to take the garbage out or fell asleep on the couch again while watching football instead of cleaning the garage.

This thing is still staring at me and now it's swaying back and forth. Excuse me for a minute....**Yeah, right! Like I'm going to be attracted to that. Go away evil insect!**

I have a solution. The males should just buy the females dinner first. Problem solved!

Haywood, what you failed to point out is that when eating the male, the female begins by biting the head off first, then inhaling the rest of the delicious snack. Discovery channel rules.

As for your visitor, unless height is an issue from ground to window, I would suggest you just kill the bastard. Show the mantis how the food chain actually works.

A bird came along and made that point abundantly clear to the praying mantis.
