Don't feel bad, Todd sucks at all that is memory. August 10th never sticks in his brain, either. 8-10, Todd...for God's sake, IT'S AN AREA CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!

But otherwise, Todd's alright.

"Haywood's Movie Reviews"

So I'm out last Friday night and I get the urge to go see a movie. I check the movie place at the mall to see what's playing. There's a huge line of parents and little kids waiting for that Narnia thing about witches, lions and a wardrobe closet. Too many little kids for me on a Friday night, so I opt for a different movie. hhhmmm, what about "RENT?" That's that Broadway play everyone's talking about, right. What the heck....how often does haywood get to see a Broadway play? Maybe it would also help me earn some points on the old culture scale.

So I purchase a ticket, walk into the theatre and I'm the only one there. That should have been my cue to run out of there like my hair was on fire, exit stage right, and ask the kind movie proprietors for a Movie Mulligan. Unfortunately, I stayed.

Big mistake. God help me...I'm still suffering nightmares from this movie. Instead of "RENT," the producers of this crime should have titled the movie "SUCK," because that's what it did...It sucked hugely.

I wanna know who's idea this movie was. What Einstein said, "Hey, I've got a great idea for a movie! Let's get 12 unemployed people, have them all living in some old condemned factory building in NYC, give all of them AIDS, and then have them dance and sing their lines for 2 and a half hours instead of talking!!! This will be great. People will love this movie."

If I really wanted to see something like this, all I'd have to do is head out the front door of the building where I work, walk a block or so to a park that's just down the street and I could see it all for free!

There wasn't two consecutive minutes of coherent dialog in the entire movie...I swear. Oh my God, it was horrible! I walked out of the movie before it was over and asked the ticket guy to please put a bullet in my head. I still don't have any idea what the movie was suppose to be about.

This movie damaged me to the point where I had trouble sleeping after I got home that night. It attacked my subconscience. I know this because when I got up in the middle of the night to hit the head, I started to sing, "I've got to pee!! Yes! I've got to pee...I'm on my way to the bathroom because I've got to pee! No time to waaaaaste, cause I've gotta peeeeee!!!"

Slowly, I'm starting to recover and I'm feeling a little better today as I write this. I guess I would put "RENT' right up there with some of the best horror films that I've ever seen. If you want to see a movie that will scare the hell out of you, go see "Rent."

Haywood, you've just earned the title of longest post ever. Congrats.

But seriously, the very fact that a movie was tied to a musical/broadway play should have been plenty of warning to avoid the flick in the first place. Scary...so damn scary those musicals are... It's like, shut up and talk!

Sorry about the lengthy post, but my therapist thought it would help me to talk about it. It's all part of the healing process.

You're absolutely right though Jeff. I learned a painful yet valuable lesson here. I'll never again go to see a movie adapted from a Broadway Musical.

I think Mike and Dee's "Big Washington D.C. Adventure" still holds the title of longest post ever.
