So incredibly busy! I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday break. I'm sure I'll end up working part of it though.
Oh, and yes, dee and mike are lame.
Turkey day is on its WAY!
Posted by todd at November 22, 2005 01:41 PMI know Mike is a huge wrestling fan, can't understand why, but I read in the news today that Eddie Guerrero died. All that 'roid usage, what else could be expected? Sad, really.
On another note, this whole Xbox360 stuff is insane. I learned my lesson back when the PS2 was released. And that is, hype + lousy software lineup = not worth it. Patience is key, camping out for hours in the cold is nuts. But hey, being uber-cool for owning something other people do not must make living in the parent's cold and damp basement much more tolerable...
End news update.
Posted by: Jeff at November 22, 2005 02:00 PMInsanity is the engine that drives the entire electronic thingamagig industry. They know that the lemmings will always line up and march into their nearest Best Buy or Circuit City and fork over their hard earned jack just so they can be the first on the block to own the latest electronic game console, cell phone, iPod Shuffle-dujour, Blackberry "palm warmer," or high def product. Then by the end of the week, their shiny new toy is obsolete and so it starts all over again. It's amazing.
Look at that iPod "Shuffleupagus" Dee bought last January. It's probably considered a dinosaur by now in the electronic thingamagig world! I just heard the new Blackberrys now have voice activated GPS technology. What ever happened to stopping at the gas station or the 7-Eleven to ask for directions?
Excuse me....I'm going to go hug my Walkman now. now.
Posted by: haywood at November 22, 2005 04:38 PMYou two should go get a cam and replace mike n dee!
Posted by: todd at November 22, 2005 04:58 PMHaywood, you rule. High-five the leo mentality :)
Sorry, Todd, no way am I going to showcase the horror that is Flagstar on the 'rabbit.
Posted by: Jeff at November 22, 2005 05:20 PMHey...I'm busy at work all the time too. Newspapers are a 24/7 operation. The difference is, I understand the importance of showing a little rabbit love every now and then to our fans.
I figured the reason we weren't seeing too much of Dee and Mike anymore was because they were in heated contract negotiations with rabbitt management. (Holding out for T.O. money...eh guys.)
I'd be careful though if I were you. Celebrity is a fickle lass. You're both obviously on top of your game right now, but remember one thing....fans don't always forgive. Look at what happened to Eric. He got too greedy and now he's the posterboy for really bad graffiti art.
Eric looks like one of those train cars you see in NYC. :)

My brother said he is smoking a salmon -- hope a turkey is on the menu too!! I have been recruited for the traditional green bean casserole and my non-traditional pumpkin pie.
Have a safe and happy 'Turkey' Day everyone !! :) and don't forget to be Thankful ;)
Posted by: Jodi at November 23, 2005 11:31 AMI would be remiss if I didn't say this before it gets too late in the day.....
I sincerely want to wish all of my friends on the rabbit, and their families, a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. In this time of reflection and thanksgiving, I also want to thank each of you for bringing so much fun and laughter into my life.
Someone once said that laughter is the only true universal lanuguage. I also believe it's God's way of healing and helping us by shining a light into a sometimes all too dark world.
I've gone through some tough things in my life this past year. But I always look forward to visiting the rabbit because I know you, my friends, will always bring a smile to my day.
Thank you.
Smoking a salmon!? Most people select a good cigar to smoke during the holidays.
Must be one of those weird holiday traditions. Did he roll it or just jam it into a pipe?
Posted by: haywood at November 23, 2005 12:01 PM
The last Thanksgiving he smoked a ham -- one that had been hanging in a cellar for almost a year. Wow was it salty and tough!! Don't know if he had an extra large pipe ... but it probably would have been better to smoke it that way :)
Dinner started with salmon stuffed mushrooms, seafood bisque, crab cakes, and some lobster thing. I was ready to go to the Boston Market ... but then out came the turkey and mashed potatoes :) Thanks be to Thee!!
Thanksgiving without a turkey is like Christmas without Santa Claus!
We even have snow. Drive carefully.
We've got snow out this way too. The weather people tell us that the Lake Erie snow machine is going to be hard at work tonight. We're suppose to wake up to a possible two feet of the white stuff tomorrow morning. YIKES!!!
Thankfully, I know my Mom visits the rabbit. I better put my order in now....
Hey, Mom...can you federal express my Thanksgiving dinner if I get snowed in? Don't forget some of Grandma's cole slaw. And make sure you throw in a piece of pumpkin pie before Dad gets a hold of it. Hit him over the head if you have to.
Thanks,
Love haywood
Posted by: haywood at November 23, 2005 12:32 PMHey everyone, have a happy Thanksgiving. Don't forget to eat lots of turkey, root for the Lions, take a nap, wake up and eat some more.
Posted by: Shane at November 23, 2005 12:33 PMTo all on The Rabbit... Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving
Posted by: Mr.D at November 23, 2005 01:52 PMooohhh...The weather outside is frightful,
If I leave now I'll be at Mom's by nightfall,
By then all the food will be gone,
Let It Snow, Let it Snow, F@$#%&G Snow!!!
A few random thoughts for today, if anyone is interested...
I made it to my Mom's for Thanksgiving yesterday. The weather here was muy frio. Lots of snow and high winds.
The turkey was great! The football Lions looked like crap...pass the potatoes.
I came in to work today **SIGH**. I ROCKED a pair of jeans, a warm pullover and Nun Bush casuals instead of a suit and wing tips though. One of these days I'm going to have to take the day after Thanksgiving off and see what that's like. I'm not sure if I'm ready to try the whole "shopping warrior" thing though. It's probably safer for me to be at work.
The Rabbit ROCKS!
I broke out my little fat Santa a little early this year and put him on my dashboard yesterday. I figured he could help me out with driving in all this snow since he does it for a living. If anything else, he's always good for a couple of laughs from my fellow motorists while we're sitting at stop lights.
Pumpkin pie with Cool Whip Rocks!
We're close to wrapping up another year. I hope 2006 is better than 2005.
I received my invite last week to attend Mike and Maria's big wedding. AWRIGHT!!! Another Michigan road trip. My excitement was somewhat dampened, however, after I took a look at the set of directions enclosed with my invitation. The route "someone" mapped out has me driving right smack dab into the Detroit River. Nice try Mike. I plan to return the xbox-360 I bought you for a wedding gift. Instead, I think I'll get you the book entitled, "How To Score More Points In Your Fantasty Football League." PPTHBBBSSSTTT!!!
Lunch time! I guess I'll end this now so I can go eat my turkey sandwich, turkey dressing, turkey soup etc. Thanks for the leftovers Mom!
Happy Holidays everybody.
Posted by: haywood at November 25, 2005 01:32 PMOuch. Start a new job and get angry comments! Crazy! No rabbit love for me!
The new desk will be set up soon - I believe Thursday is the day we move (after work)...
Posted by: Dee at November 26, 2005 02:53 PMWe're not really angry...we just miss your witty message posts and compelling discussion topics. Afterall, you guys are part of what makes The Rabbit great!
The other BIG issue is that we've taken a severe hit to our ratings since you both began your self-imposed hiatus. I've got the latest rating sheets right here..**SHUFFLE** **SHUFFLE** **SHUFFLE** For example, our "Really Hot Babe" demographic (I call it "The Mike Factor") is the lowest it's ever been. And our "Stud" demographic, which had been showing signs of recovering from the news of Dee's nuptials, is dropping once again!
So, hurry back guys. We anxiously await your reappearance on The Rabbit. It can't come soon enough for I sense a great disturbance in The Force. That probably means Eric is getting ready to post a topic soon.
Posted by: haywood at November 28, 2005 09:16 AMWow...and I do mean, WOW. I get to meet Haywood in person come January 7th. Get ready, Jim, I do hope you come with thirst in tow.
Posted by: Jeff at November 28, 2005 02:40 PMWhat's Up TABLE 17!!!
I, myself and my thirst are looking forward to seeing you at the big wedding. I'm undergoing intense training as we speak so that I'll be in tip-top condition come January. It's the same program I used to "dispose" of Todd and Eric at Dee's wedding. (I should mention that Todd was on the "Physically Unable To Perform" list due to a recent illness, but Eric was a total wimp.) :)
I still have to get my hands on a legit set of directions though, since the ones Mike sent with my invitation have me parking in the Detroit River. I also wonder where Mike has me sitting at the reception? If the directions he sent are any indication, I imagine my "table" will be surrounded by porcelain fixtures.
Posted by: haywood at November 28, 2005 03:29 PMWay to much to read on this thread so here is a post.
Booty-Traps!
