This weekend is the Humane Society's "Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo" event. I think I want a kitty. Jim has agreed to it as long as we get a baby kitty so that we can raise it to be cool. He doesn't want a scared little cat that runs and hides when someone comes over (like Maria and Mike's cat, Julius). He wants a friendly one (like Maria and Mike's cat, Snickers).
Posted by dee at September 20, 2005 03:19 PMThere are about 1000 cats there. I'm sure you will find one!

Posted by: Maria at September 20, 2005 04:54 PMI used to have 2 cats. Now that I am getting divorced I have no cats. I must admit, the hair and litter smell are not really missed :)
Posted by: Shane at September 21, 2005 10:43 AMI have come to know and love the cat! They really are cool animals.
I've never understood why women like cats so much.
Cats are very independent and like to do their own thing. They never listen to you. Instead their attitude is like, "Right...I'm going to have to take a message and get back to you later on that."
Cats don't come when you call, unless it's time to eat. They have curious bathroom habits. When they play with something, they usually tear it to shreds and leave it for you to clean up. They like to stay out all night and after they come home they lay around all day and sleep.
In other words, every quality women hate in a man, they love in a cat.

Wow Haywood -- great analogy.
Maybe that's why I find cats so annoying :)
What's the iguana going to think?
(better late than never...still recouping from traveling -- don't know how Mike & Dee do it -- especially 2 weeks straight! Good thing I'm not in Minneapolis this week!! Tornado shut all the plants down last night)
.... that sounded mean ... I don't hate cats, even had a Siamese in my apartment. But I'm with Shane, don't miss the cat & cat litter smell. I had one of those 'scared' cats. At least I always know where the dogs are -- too big to hide in a closet (though Cybil tried).
