you just cant win.
I don't even want to get into it too much, except to say that my balls are so cut off here I'd look good in some capri pants and a silky top. Mauve? Salmon? Melonberry? Soooo many pretty colors.
I'm dying here. Someone, anyone, help.
How much money is there in the newspaper biz heywood?
Posted by mike at August 18, 2005 02:17 PMActually, it's not too bad. Like anything else, it depends on what company you work for. It's been good enough to keep me in the business since 1979.
We do have pretty strict dress codes however. Tell ya what....give me a call after you get rid of capri pants and silky tops. I'll see what I can do.

I know an IT Department where they love guys in mauve capri pants ... well the term 'guys' being a loose definition. You'd definitely have more freedom to express yourself!! :)
But if you like the restrictive look -- blue suits, red ties -- and you feel like being the bad guy for a change ... and making some decent money (you'll need to pay for the attire to go along with the bad ass reputation) ... I know a place hiring.

I'd do anything to not do it here.
Posted by: mike at August 18, 2005 03:27 PMCome to think of it...we're not too happy with our IT guy right now. It's taken him over a week to install a printer we need to produce front pages from our newspaper so we can sell to customers. Very frustrating!
This could be a real opportunity for you Mike. The weather here is about the same, you'd get to read the comics before anyone else sees them, and you'd be able to see the answers to the crossword puzzle before they get published. Our professional sports teams suck here though.
Would Dee have to factored in to your employment package?
Posted by: haywood at August 18, 2005 03:30 PMpreferably yes.
The two headed IT monster is far more value for your money. You get 3 people worth of work for 2 peoples worth of generous salary.
If not, she can find her own job, I got's a mortgage to pay.
:)
