I tried to do the right thing with my afternoon snack choice. I happened to be at the grocery store picking up a few cards (happy anniversery Kate!) and thought I would pick up an orange for snack later. Smelled good. Peeled good. Dry. Yuck. You orange eaters out there know what I'm talking about. By all accounts, it's still an orange, but the juice is all sucked out of it. It tastes kinda like wood. So I had to resort to one of those good and crunchy Nature Valley granola bars. Still decent, but not an orange.
Posted by mike at May 31, 2005 03:08 PMWow - that explains the crunching I was hearing. I couldn't figure out (and didn't really want to know) why the orange was so crunchy. Gross.
Posted by: Dee at May 31, 2005 03:18 PMThe crunching you heard could have been Mike secretly doing a little ice chooing. Glad to hear it was really a granola bar.
Dry oranges suck. Save the leftover slices and use them as a garnish in your Orange Tangerine Zinger ;D)

I'm counting myself lucky for never having come across one of these dry oranges.
GROSS!
