Poor Little Mower

Jim and I received a new lawn mower at our shower. Jim put it together for me on Friday and he cut the back lawn. It works great! On Saturday, I decide to cut the front. I wake Jim up so he can show me how to use it (our last mower was a push mower so I wanted to make sure I knew how to start this fancy new one). He starts it for me and then walks with me for the first pass on the lawn. At the end of the first row, the mower hits something and stops. Great.

We have this little water department cap thingy in our lawn. I knew it was there, but the old mower went right over it without a problem. This one was not having anything to do with it though. The blade is bent to a ridiculous degree. Hopefully, nothing else is messed up.

We bought a new blade (while we were out buying tools) but haven't tried it out yet. Lucky for me, Jim got the old mower started so I could finish the lawn - the last thing I wanted was to be "that neighbor" with one row of lawn cut.

Poor little mower...

I accidently ran over a toad once with my lawn mower. Good thing I wasn't mulching the grass clippings that day. In addition to being catapulted into a tree in my neighbors yard, he ended up with a really nice haircut.

I don't think he did any damage to my mower blade. He never thanked me for the haircut. Toads.

Mulched toad - gross. One more reason that I need to beg Jim to hook up the bag so I can collect whatever I run over instead of having it fling back at me.

I always wondered what the toad was thinking when that happened to him......

Toad: "Whoa...look at the size of that fly over there! Lunch is served. Now, if I can just sneak up on him..EEEYYYAAAAHHHH"

(Just then, haywood runs over toad with mower.)

Toad receives stylish haircut and **TTHHUUUMMMPPP** is promptly delivered to his new home in neighbor's tree.

Toad: "Holy cow....that fly kicked my a$$. How the hell am I gonna get down from here? I love the new 'Do'though."
