So I'm thinking of hiring the Poop Scoop King. $48/month. They come out once a week and scoop poop for up to 3 dogs. For me, i estimate that to be a little under $1 per pile.
I think this could be worth it.
Posted by todd at March 22, 2005 10:28 AMOK, between you and Sybil(sp?), that's only two piles. Think you'll get a break on the price?
Posted by: Jeff at March 22, 2005 10:40 AMJeez, your backyard must look like a mine field.
Consider this before you hire Poop Scoop King for that crappy clean up job Todd....
The "Doggy Doo Home Burglar Deterrent System" you have, is one of the lowest priced and most effective burglar alarm systems on the market today. A thief has no desire to hit a house with 48 huge piles of crap laying around the yard. For starters, they don't want to be bothered with the messy shoes factor and then there's the threat of having to deal with a dog, or dogs, relative to the pile sizes.
"Crap" for thought.....

You only have 1 dog!! If she goes twice a day - that's only 14 piles a week, 56/month ~$.85/pile.
Now if you are joining her - a different story.
My 3 average around 3 piles each per day. @~5/day = 140/month. $.34 per pile. Though I would tend to think of it on a per pound scale, especially with the big dogs!
I just hauled roughly 180 lbs over the past 2 garbage days since a lot was hiding under the snow. And I haven't even finished the lawn or tackled my gardens!!
Now THAT would be worth it! Do they have a Spring Cleaning service?
Things to consider -- lawn mowing, people over, garbage day (do they take it away too?).
Posted by: Jodi at March 22, 2005 02:05 PMI would have like to have seen the garbage man's face when he lifted the lid off the can containing 180 lbs of doggie doo. He probably said to his partner, "Hey Charlie...the wind must be just right. I smell Pittsburgh."
Posted by: haywood at March 22, 2005 02:15 PMThis was the 1st time I had used all of my 4 garbage cans and actually used garbage bags!!
I wasn't that mean though! I did take the lids of the night before this week. But last week it snowed so I couldn't spare them.
I sure hate it when things pile up!!
Posted by: Jodi at March 22, 2005 02:33 PMFunny things is - they DO have a one time spring cleaning service!
.85/pile - worth it. Who wants to make some money.
