Was this forcasted? I don't remember hearing about this downpour of snow. It's not like it's stopping either! Of all the days to be lazy and not put my car in the garage...had I been warned about snow, I would have done some driveway rearranging and made sure to get in the garage!
Yeah, I wish I would have put mine in the garage also! I would have just have to move one other car, 25 boxes, 3 tool stands, a welding cart and a snow blower.
The weather folks out here told us yesterday it was going to "rain" today. So, what do I wake up to this morning? Six to eight inches of snow! Great job weather people...keep up the good work.
Posted by: haywood at January 11, 2005 01:00 PMI have just enough room in my garage to open the driver door about 12" or until it hits the wall and walk sideways on the other side to get to the door. (Some nice guy stacked all the boxes from one side of the garage to the other so squeezing the car in would be possible.)
But I'd like to thank mother nature for the time spent outside this morning snowblowing all of my sidewalks, driveway, and even a neighbor's. Fresh air -- and an excuse to be late for work!
Maybe I should have played blonde and said my snowblower wasn't working (needed gas) and I had to shovel -- that would have taken 3 hours opposed to 40 minutes with that great snow blowing invention! Whatever money I paid my friend for that old thing was worth every penny!
Posted by: Jodi at January 11, 2005 01:23 PMAh, to have a snowblower...we are still using that old "manual labor" method of shoveling. We choose to not clear our sidewalks until after work though. We have 24 hours from time of falling...not a bad rule!
Posted by: Dee at January 11, 2005 02:09 PMI'm boycotting the whole shovel thing. I did it the first time, but it just really hasn't paid off.
Posted by: todd at January 11, 2005 02:36 PMMy neighbor rocks. Clears the sidewalk for me. Then I feel like an ass and end up clear my adjacent neighbors walk..... so I end up doing the same amount of work.
I ahd to laugh when I saw one dude working the snow blower on a 1inch dusting of snow. The snow was sooo light and weak that the "thrower" just kind of plopped the snow out of it's chute and down rightt in front of the blades again. There just was't enough snow to even launch it part way twards the lawn area. ( btw - I was out there with my BROOM)
Posted by: eric at January 11, 2005 03:34 PMFor some reason, my work does not see it necessary to provide a shovel for us, so if you head on down to Starbucks you can see us "scooping" snow off the sidewalk with the dust pan. Hilarious I tell you.
