No Haiku today
Darn was looking forward too
Oh well next Friday

Boys home tommorrow
Home today not hookie though
Woke up with migraine

Tired of sleeping
Will be a long boring day
Maybe beer will help

Well that gave me something to do for 7 whole minutes. Took some medicine earlier, feel a bit better. Maybe I'll go into work now that the dogs barked at some squirrel until I was wide awake. I so wanted to sleep in today. I already ate left overs from yesterday, if I leave now, I can probably make it to work for lunch :) Lots of effort though.

Are you not feeling well? That's not any fun, especially with the weekend coming up!

I had asked Todd if it was okay to move Haiku Friday so that they could all participate too!

I'm just glad the week has come to an end. I feel like falling into a coma over the weekend just to recover properly.

No kidding. Maybe if my phone would stop ringing today, I could actually accomplish something too. I think I'm leaving around 4:30 - that sounds late enough for a Friday. It'll be just enough time to go home, relax, eat dinner and go to kickball. We have a double header today!

Dee, Good luck at kickball! I think you might need to leave work a bit earlier -- 3ish, just to mentally prepare yourself and have a few drinks to loosen up :)

Jeff, I take it car repairs didn't go well. I need my rear brakes done. Had the front ones done last month. I'd like to take it in the morning, but don't feel like waiting there.

My car needs it's 30,000 mile maintenance check. I guess it's somewhere around $600 though. It just seems so steep! I wonder how long they keep the car for?

Posted by: Dee at September 17, 2004 11:50 AM

Well it's been 9 years since I've had a car with that few miles on it :( $600 !! Wow has the price of maintaining a new car gone up!

I always took my Prelude for every check-up. I think the most I ever recall paying was ~$300. The cool thing about the Honda dealership where I lived -- they always gave me a sweet car to drive for the day. But that was years ago; I doubt even Honda does that anymore. I know Pontiac doesn't.

Wow 1:00 PM! Just had some BBQ ribs & mashed potatoes. Might be time for a nap.

It's a shame I don't have my secure card with me so I could work from home :( Damn!

Hmmm...should take my care in now. Wonder if they'd drive me back here? Heck. Dogs would love the super long walk! They look awfully comfy though...I'd hate to wake them up.

I'm due for some major maintenance on my car too. I need to do it, especially since I plan on buying out the lease. Hmmm. Student loan disbursement comes in handy yet again!

Isn't it crazy how it is only 1pm, and I've already worked a full 8-hour day!?

Posted by: Maria at September 17, 2004 01:22 PM

I'm not sure if I'll be working a full 8 hours today. Damn this getting up late! If I just got here at 7:30 like I planned (instead of 8:30) then everything would be fine! It's okay - going out to lunch was worth it! Thanks to the bosses for picking up the tab!

Let me tell you, getting slammed with work on a Friday where I don't feel like working is rough.

I've just surfaced! Anyway, no Jodi, the car is actually just fine. I had to wait an hour and a half, though...oh well. Oil change, tire rotation, and getting rid of some odd rattling noise in the front of the car. Turned out to be a loose panel that just needed to be tightened. She's humming like a newborn again. I really love my car. That's the first time I can honestly say that about a car I own.

Hang in there, Dee. You're almost through the day!
